We utilize various state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to ensure your comfort and safety during dental procedures Infection Control All of our instruments are heat sterilized with an autoclave pressure sterilizer, or disposed of according to CDC infection control guidelines with the latest equipment available. We use CDC approved disinfectant solutions and disposable barriers to ensure germ-free surfaces. Everything is sterilized/disinfected for every patient, as it should be. We are very serious about infection control and maximizing yours and our health and safety. Digital Imaging               We use digital radiography to minimize radiation exposure during dental X-Rays. This also helps us to show you more clearly what is happening in your mouth via computer and/or television monitors. Also, the digital films are thinner and more comfortable than traditional x-ray films. Intraoral Camera Our Intraoral camera allows us to give you a visual tour of your mouth, which you can view on the television monitor. Again, another tool to help us educate patients about their oral health. Air Abrasion Air Abrasion allows us to perform many restorations without using anesthesia by essentially sandblasting away the decay. This procedure allows for more conservative preparations, thereby minimizing the loss of natural tooth structure. It is quite comfortable- no drills, no needles.         ProSelect® Periodontal Scaler This machine is a more gentle form of ultrasonic scaling and enables the hygienist to irrigate specific areas of the mouth with medications as necessary to help decrease sensitivity due to tooth brush abrasion and gum recession, or to help reduce gingival inflammation resulting from periodontal disease. In many cases, it allows us to perform scaling and root planning procedures without anesthesia, as the medications flushed through the unit help to decrease the discomfort associated with traditional ultrasonic and hand scaling. Cerec® Chairside Crown and Inlay Fabricator        Dr. Lubitz, when applicable, utilizes a chairside machine that creates a crown or inlay from a block of porcelain before your very eyes in a single visit. What this means for you? No impression, no metal, no temporary restoration, and less time out of your schedule, as these procedures normally take at least 2 appointments. DiagnoDent® Laser Cavity Detector This device allows us to diagnose cavities that would otherwise be undetectable with a regular explorer. Oftentimes cavities may not be obvious and may present as a tiny pit on the surface enamel, while in the dentin beneath the enamel the cavity is more advanced and can quickly spread, as the dentin is softer than enamel. This device helps us to catch cavities and fill them when they are small, preventing them from causing further damage to the tooth structure.
